Our Mission

Cen‑Tex Kennel Club promotes the welfare of purebred dogs, encourages responsible ownership, and supports AKC conformation events in Central Texas.

Founded in 1966, the club has served the region for decades through dog shows, community programs, and member education.

What We Do

How to Become a Member

Thank you for your interest in applying for membership in the Cen-Tex Kennel Club.

Founded in 1966 in Waco, Texas, our club has hosted numerous AKC all-breed shows and well as obedience and rally trials.

As a nonprofit organization, we continue to conduct and support AKC-sanctioned activities throughout the year and offer training classes to both members and the general public. All profits are devoted to the advancement of purebred dogs and AKC activities.

Cen-Tex Kennel Club welcomes enthusiastic new members who share a love of dogs and uphold AKC values.

Membership Requiremments

Membership requires attending three business meetings 

1. First Meeting (Guest Visit)

  • sign in as a guest

  • Include your email address so we can add to the mailing list

  • You are invited to attend the meeting and submit your membership application to the secretary.

2. Second Meeting

  • Your application will be read aloud for the first time.

3.Third Meeting

  • Your application will be read aloud for the second time. 

  • Members will then vote anonymously to accept or reject your application.

After Approval

  • Once your dues are received, you will be added to the membership roster.

  • You then will enjoy all privileges of a regular member as outlined in our current bylaws.

A longtime Waco resident, she began showing in 1983 and has finished champions in Shetland Sheepdogs and Tibetan Spaniels. She has served as CTKC secretary (2023-2025) and is the current president. Recently retired from teaching.
